— SAN ANTONIO – Tressa Watkins, of Willow Park, participated in the Texas Brigades summer leadership camps in June and July. She was among one 156 high school students who took part in this award-winning leadership development program.
The Texas Brigades’ mission is to educate and empower youths with leadership skills and knowledge in wildlife, fisheries and land stewardship to become conservation ambassadors for a sustained natural resource legacy.
There were seven Brigade camps this summer; two Buckskin Brigades, two Bobwhite Brigades, Bass Brigade, Waterfowl Brigade, and the newest addition, Ranch Brigade.
Participants must be between 13 and 17 years of age, and submit a complete application for consideration. Dates for 2014 will be available by Jan. 1.
Participants are available to give presentations to schools and civic groups.
