Attempted fraud of elderly woman

A 93-year-old woman reported to Weatherford police that someone obtained her personal information and attempted to divert her Social Security checks for deposit into their bank account.

Alleged machine burglar arrested

Police Thursday afternoon were called to the 1900 block of Wall Street concerning a suspicious person. A complainant described to police a man seen around his soda vending machines and told the officer what kind of vehicle the suspect left in. The officer began checking nearby hotels and found the suspect’s vehicle. The officer went inside and reportedly came across Michael McRoberts, 44, of Azle, who matched the suspect’s description. McRoberts reportedly was in possession of several tools used to burglarize coin operated machines in a backpack he was carrying. McRoberts was placed under arrest for burglary of a coin-operated machine and transported to the police department to be interviewed by Weatherford PD detectives before being transported to Parker County Jail, police said. He was held under $1,500 bond. Police reported recovering $15.30 in dollars, quarters and dimes.

Door kicked in

A resident in the 200 block of Willow Creek Drive on Thursday afternoon reported a door was kicked in, but nothing inside the home was determined missing. The incident occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Damage to the door was placed at $50.

Aledo house burglarized

ALEDO – A resident of the 2700 block of Almetta Centerpoint Road, in Aledo, said he left his home about 8:30 a.m. Thursday and returned home that evening to find the rear fence gate open and forced entry into the home, with two television sets stolen.
