Parade kicks off week of homecoming events for WHS

It is homecoming week for Weatherford High School with a slate of activities and events for returning alumni.

The festivities begin with the annual parade starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ninth Grade Center and proceeding north along South Main Street. This year’s parade theme is “Light Up The Future.”

On Friday is the Ex-Student Association’s Awards Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. There is no charge for lunch, but an RSVP to is requested.

Friday night is the homecoming football game between the Roos and North Crowley Panthers. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at Kangaroo Stadium. The reunion classes can sit in general admission seats in Section D.

Saturday is the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction at WHS Durant Auditorium at 9 a.m. featuring honorees Rodney Kelley (Class of 1961); Steve Wester (Class of 1978); Todd Mathison (Class of 1990); and the 1982-83 boys basketball team.
