WAA Peach Fest art contest artists awarded

The Weatherford Art Association recently announced the winners of the annual Peach Festival Art Competition, as well as the 2012-13 Artist of the Year, following the 29th Peach Festival Saturday.

More than 200 artists, from kindergarten to professional, entered the competition. Entries were judged by Granbury artist Rebecca Zook.

Best of Show was awarded to Stephen F. Austin senior Katherine Holmes for her experimental painting titled “Song of Songs 4:4.” Best of Show in the student division was given to Emma Moorman for her paper mache panda called “In Danger.” People’s Choice Award for students also went to Moorman for her paper mache project.

People’s Choice Award for adults went to Don Lambert for his photograph, “Into the Wild.”
