Roommates charged with assaulting each other

(Continued)

Shortly before the incident, Brown reportedly sent Beckley, who had lived with Brown for about two months, a text to come pick up her clothes because he was kicking her out of the house, according to Weatherford police.

When she drove up and saw Brown throwing her clothes out the back door and onto the ground, Beckley attempted to get in the house but Brown held the door shut and wouldn’t let her in, according to police, who reported that Brown reportedly pushed Beckley down the stairs, where she landed on the ground.

Brown then held her down before going back in the house, according to police.

Beckley reportedly pulled a knife from her back pocket and entered the house after Brown.

Police believe the two were inside arguing when, according to Brown’s statement to police, he slapped Beckley to “calm her down.”

Beckley then took three swings at Brown with the knife, slicing his left wrist with the third swing, according to Stagner.

Beckley then began collecting her things, put a leather belt around Brown’s arm to stop the bleeding and waited outside in her vehicle for officers to arrive, police reported.
