By SHARRON HUDSON

MILLSAP – As Millsap ISD is well into the spring semester, students are very busy on many fronts.

The elementary youngsters recently had the opportunity for some wonderful enrichment in the arts.

The Weatherford College Drama Department presented the play “Cinderella Confidential” to the students. This department produces four shows per year and is involved in entertaining various organizations. One of the plays is a traveling children’s show which is produced from fall into the spring semester.

The Weatherford College Touring Theatre Group is responsible for this production, and their main objective is to bring the joy of theatre to as many children as possible. The touring group entertains at elementary schools in the local areas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas. It is a real treat to have this form of art brought to our students, and kids always seem to make memories of such events.

If you like to bake cookies here’s a good opportunity to buy some to cook. The elementary students are having their annual Big Kahuna Cookie Dough Fundraiser. The purpose of the fundraising is send all of Millsap’s fifth graders to Camp Grady Spruce.

This camp is a yearly event for many area elementary students, and the kids always get some great educational opportunities that are only available in the outdoors. The fundraiser pays for each of the students to attend the camp without any cost to parents. The whole elementary participates in anticipation of their turn to go to the camp. The cookies are easy to bake, taste great and freeze well. To purchase, go by the elementary office and they will be delighted to help.

A last reminder that the Millsap Neighborhood Ladies Home and Garden Club Annual Lamplight Spaghetti Dinner is Feb. 8 at the Millsap Community Center, 4-8 p.m. There will be spaghetti with a choice of sauces, salad, tea, water, and coffee. Carryout will be available. Plus, there will be delicious desserts to purchase from the Sweet Shoppe. The cost is $7, with kids 5 years and under eating free.
