Weatherford ISD confirmed Thursday that Andy Pool is no longer principal at Juan E. Seguin Elementary School.

Frances Adams, a five-year WISD employee and formerly a bilingual instructional specialist with the district’s curriculum and instruction department, is now interim principal of Seguin Elementary, according to Weatherford ISD spokesman Derik Moore.

The circumstances surrounding the recent exit of Pool, whose wife is the Weatherford High School principal, are unclear.

Moore declined to comment, saying he could not comment on a personnel issue.

Moore could not immediately provide information Thursday afternoon on whether Pool resigned or was terminated from his position or whether Pool was even currently an employee with the district.

Pool has worked for Weatherford ISD for 12 years and has been a principal since 2005, including at Bill Wright Elementary, according to the district.

The Weatherford ISD School Board is expected to make the decision on who will fill the Seguin principal position permanently.

The Democrat made an attempt to reach Pool for comment but did not receive a response by deadline.
