Local attorney, law firm receive national recognition

(Continued)

In June, the three partners of Vick, Carney & Smith, all Sustaining Life Fellows, will attend a private reception honoring Vick for his service as the elected secretary-treasurer of the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees. During his one-year term, Vick played an instrumental role on the executive committee of the foundation, primarily relating to budget and financial activities.

The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably-funded bar foundation in the country. Each year, the top one-third of one percent of state bar members are invited to become fellows. Once nominees are selected, they must be elected by the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees.

Founded by lawyers determined to assist the public and improve the legal profession, the Texas Bar Foundation has maintained its mission of using the financial contributions of its membership to build a strong justice system for all Texans.

To date, the Texas Bar Foundation has distributed more than $13 million throughout Texas to assist nonprofit organizations with a wide range of justice-related programs and services.
