MILLSAP MATTERS: Reunion time approaches

By SHARRON HUDSON

MILLSAP – For many people this is the time of year that reunions are held. In that light, Millsap alumni will be enjoying their annual school reunion on Saturday, April 26.

The event will be taking place at Millsap High School, with plans to begin gathering around 9:30 a.m.  Special honorees will be the 50-year class of 1964 and all teachers. There will be a silent auction and some of the items included are a painting by artist Linda Whitehouse, a quilted art piece donated by Millsap’s Thumbs and Thimbles Quilting Club and a lap robe donated by the Class of 1964.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward scholarships for graduating Millsap seniors. A potluck lunch will be shared along with lots of good memories. Everyone ever associated with Millsap ISD is cordially invited to come and enjoy this time of reminiscing.

Walden Farm and Ranch Supply, 201 Fairview in Millsap, will be having its consignment auction of farm and ranch equipment beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. The Millsap Neighborhood Ladies Home and Garden Club will have a bake sale on the grounds, and there will be a food booth sponsored by the Abandoned Cemetery Association. For info about the sale call 817-821-0351 or 817-613-7896.  This is always a big day for the community, so come out and see our town while shopping for just that right piece of farm/ranch equipment.

As the May 10 elections are coming up soon, the Parker County website has details about early voting and polling sites by personal appearance. Early voting is April 28-May 6 on weekdays. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on May 1 and May 6 voting hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. The closest listed site for early Millsap voters is the Parker County Courthouse Annex Kitchen, 1112 Santa Fe Drive, Weatherford. On Election Day, May 10, Millsap voters can vote at the Millsap Middle School Media Center, 301 East Brazos, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
