WESA names administrator, member of the year

Members of the Weatherford Educational Support Association announced its Administrator of the Year and WESA Member of the Year awards at Tuesday’s meeting in the WISD District Services Building Boardroom.

Austin Elementary Principal Jenny Morris was named WESA’s Administrator of the Year, and Weatherford ISD PEIMS Coordinator Amy Rankin was named WESA Member.

Comments for both honorees were as follows:

Jenny Morris

Morris has a love for her students, staff and parents at Austin Elementary. She exemplifies what it means to be a principal to all. She greets all the students at the door each morning. Her door is always open whether it’s just to say hello or meet with her.

When a student doesn’t have lunch money, she’ll ask that they charge to her account. If a student is absent three days in a row, she’ll make a house call with a get well bag in hand. If a student is in the hospital, she goes to visit with a roll of quarters for the parents to use the vending machines.

She inspires all her students and staff to always try their best.

Amy Rankin

Rankin is a great example for all to follow. She is always very professional in everything she does. She is always willing to help in any way she can.  She wears many hats in her job and is very knowledgeable about each of them. She is very talented at work but also outside work.

She is a wonderful artist and is very involved in her church. We are very fortunate to have her as an employee of WISD, a WESA member, and a friend.
