POLICE BEAT: Probe into woman’s death continues

A criminal investigation into an incident last month that claimed the life of a 19-year-old Parker County mother is active and ongoing, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death of Rebecca Maricle an accident due to cranio-cerebral injuries after an incautious exit from a moving vehicle on a public roadway.

Maricle died April 11 in the operating room of a Fort Worth hospital after the incident occurred on

FM 730 near Flatrock Road on April 7, according to records.

Man with gun arrested

A man who reportedly pulled a gun outside a bar early Sunday morning was restrained with his own weapon by a stranger and arrested by deputies, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

Mikey Floyd Huff Jr., 43, of Weatherford, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by displaying a firearm.

A 29-year-old man told deputies who responded around 3:15 a.m. to the 1800 block of Mineral Wells Highway that he was near a taco stand outside a bar when Huff, who he  said did he did not know, approached him for an unknown reason and began arguing with him, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 29-year-old reportedly told deputies that he felt unsafe when Huff displayed a loaded .45-caliber handgun and took the firearm away from Huff.

The man reportedly used Huff’s gun to restrain the suspect until deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office reported.

Deputies believe alcohol is a factor in the incident.

Man charged with driving stolen truck

Around 1:30 a.m., an officer on patrol reportedly ran a license plate number and pulled the black Chevrolet Avalanche over in the 200 block of West Anderson Street when the license plate was reported stolen.
