The Aledo High School student killed after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday while walking on Interstate 20 in Willow Park is 17-year-old Austin Muse, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner confirmed Friday.

Muse, a Willow Park resident, was about to go into his junior year and had attended Aledo ISD schools since the seventh grade.

He lived on Kingswood Drive, just south of the interstate, and had reportedly left his home minutes before the incident.

Muse was struck in the outside eastbound lane of the highway east of the Mikus Road exit while appearing to cross north towards the median around 3:30 p.m., according to Willow Park police.

CPR was started before emergency responders arrived on scene, police said, and Muse was transported to a Fort Worth hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 4:30 p.m. that afternoon.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner had not ruled on the manner and cause of death as of Friday.

The vehicle that struck Muse stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Additional details on the incident and circumstances leading up to it were not available Friday.
