Country music talent search coming to Willow Park July 31

Anticipation and excitement is higher than ever as aspiring country music artists prepare for the 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown at Railhead Smokehouse BBQ on July 31st at 7 p.m.

The QXFM Radio Network will host America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion. Railhead Smokehouse BBQ located at 120 S Ranch House Road in Willow Park will provide the perfect atmosphere to feature the best and most entertaining talent in our area. Sponsors for this year’s competition are Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy and The Tint Shop in Weatherford.

Acts will compete for prizes and the opportunity to perform at the Texas State Texaco Country Showdown. State winners vie for a $1,000 cash prize and will advance to a regional competition in the fall. The five regional winners are awarded an all-expense paid trip to the national final where they will compete for the $100,000 grand prize and the national title. The Texaco Country Showdown gives aspiring country music artists in America a chance to launch their professional careers. Audiences may be seeing, hearing and applauding the next country music star.

Come support these 15 artists/bands as they compete for the title of the local event winner and proceed to the state regional finals held at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth on Aug. 17th.

Open to vocal and/or instrumental performers, the Texaco Country Showdown welcomes individual acts or groups with up to seven members to compete. Acts also must not have performed on a record charted in the top 100 country format of Billboard within eighteen months preceding the local competition. To ensure fairness, a uniform judging system is used on all levels of competition.

Showdown competitions produced by participating country music radio stations across the nation.
