Sheriff’s department reports incidents over past several days


At 3:31 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to 3080 West State Highway 199 in Springtown for a report of an abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly observed Joaquin Gonzalez, 55, standing beside a white Ford F-350 parked on the side of the road facing westbound. Gonzalez was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested.

On Sunday a 63-year-old man in the 200 block of Overlook Trail in Azle said someone broke out the rear kitchen window.

On Sunday at approximately 11:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of Zion Hill Road in reference to a burglary. Deputies met with a 32-year-old man who said between midnight and 11 a.m. Sunday someone entered his workshop and stole a red dirt bike.

Deputies Monday evening were dispatched to the 100 block of Shady Hilly Lane in reference to a theft of a 1993 Ford truck.

A man in the 1200 block of Windsor Lane in Springtown on Monday evening reported the theft of two boat batteries that occurred sometime in the last four to six weeks.

At 1:10 p.m. Monday, a woman in the 2000 block of Alyssa Court in Azle stated her residence was burglarized between July 14 and July 18.

At 3:36 a.m. Monday, deputies attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the 9800 block of East Bankhead Highway. The vehicle led a pursuit through the West Oak neighborhood and to Interstate 20 to the 42 mile marker where the vehicle reportedly drove through a field. The driver fled and was not located after a lengthy search.

Deputies on Monday were dispatched to the 13000 block of South FM Road 730 in Azle in reference to a theft. There a woman said sometime between 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Monday her vehicle was stolen. The sheriff’s department did not list the kind of vehicle.

Deputies were sent Monday to 505 Centerpoint Road in reference to a criminal mischief complaint. A woman said someone slashed the two passenger side tires of her vehicle.
