Sheriff’s department reports incidents over past several days


On Monday at 12:22 a.m. a deputy on routine patrol reported seeing a white 2010 Ford passenger car traveling northbound on FM Road 5 near Airport Road. As the vehicle passed by the Annetta Cemetery, the deputy reported hearing a gunshot and seeing a muzzle flash coming from the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted at FM Road 5 and McDavid Drive and each occupant was identified. One passenger, Edward Anders, 22, was arrested on outstanding Parker County warrants. The vehicle was searched and the deputy reported finding a 9mm Berretta PX4 handgun under the center armrest of the rear seat. Anthony Atkins, 20, reportedly admitted to firing the weapon out the window. Atkins was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
