VETERANS’ CORNER: Labor Dept. grants to help train, employ homeless vets

(Continued)

Korean War anniversary

This Saturday, July 27, marked the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. This war, almost totally forgotten, needs awareness for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who returned. Contact a VFW to see if they are commemorating this event with viewing parties and a “Pancake for Patriots” event, if not, thank a Korean veteran by taking him/her to lunch or dinner.

Speak to you again next week.

Jim Vines is commander of AmVets Post 133.
