Mayor seeks public’s input on smoking in public

Weatherford Mayor Dennis Hooks is seeking public feedback on the issue of smoking in public places as city officials begin to discuss how to regulate smoking in public.

Weatherford City Council has a work session on the subject planned for its Dec. 10 meeting. Hooks would like people to write him with their thoughts and comments prior to the meeting via email at

Interested residents are also invited to attend the Dec. 10 meeting at 4 p.m. to learn what  council members feel about the subject and what they plan on doing, if anything.

The council was scheduled to have a work session on the subject during its November meeting, but the session was postponed until this month to allow city staff time to gather more information on the issue.
