MILLSAP MATTERS: Millsap students preparing entertainment for the season

The Parker County Abandoned Cemetery Association will have a yard sale Nov. 2 at 102 Mockingbird Lane in Weatherford. This group always has some great items to choose from, and the sale will take place come rain or shine beginning at 8 a.m. With well over 60 cemeteries that this group keeps up, funds are always needed for such things as repair of grave markers, putting up fences and preserving the grave sites. Drop by and shop with them for a great bargain while helping a worthy cause.

In other historical news the Millsap Methodist Church family and Millsap Heritage Society are working on the process of getting state historical markers for the church and log cabins. They have been encouraged to do this as there are very few historical markers in the western end of Parker County, even though the area is rich in history. Dr. Harold Lawrence of the Parker County Historical Commission is directing the efforts of these groups. Best wishes on this undertaking.

While Millsap is having its citywide Christmas celebration on Dec. 14, Weatherford’s Celebration of Lights is Nov. 30 in the downtown area. It will be happening 5-10 p.m., with a tree lighting at 7 p.m.

There will be caroling, carriage rides, shopping, and entertainment. On Dec. 7, Weatherford will celebrate with Christmas On the Square from noon (right after the parade) until 5 p.m.  Mark those calendars for all of this fun!
