Carrie Harrison new Tison Middle School principal

Weatherford ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hanks announced Friday afternoon that Carrie Harrison, assistant principal at Seguin Elementary, is now the principal for Tison Middle School.

Harrison replaces Elizabeth Ward, who recently stepped down for personal reasons.

Harrison grew up in Benbrook and has lived in Weatherford the past seven years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Learning & Development from Texas Wesleyan University in 2001 and began her teaching career at Westpark Elementary in Fort Worth ISD, where she taught for eight years.

Carrie completed her master’s degree in Educational Administration at Tarleton State University in 2009 and, at that time, joined Weatherford ISD as an assistant principal at Tison Middle School. Since 2012, she has been an assistant principal at Seguin Elementary.

Harrison said she is excited to be returning to Tison Middle School as principal. She said she believes building meaningful relationships is the key to making a school successful. Harrison also said she looks forward to working with teachers, students, parents and the community to make Tison Middle School “world class.”

Harrison is married to Ken Harrison and they have two children, David and Hannah.
