Millsap’s Log Cabin Days features a full day of events

MILLSAP – The Millsap Heritage Society is staging the Second Annual Millsap Log Cabin Days this Saturday.

Festivities will kick off with a free campfire breakfast at the Fuller Millsap Cabin in downtown Millsap from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Several displays will be there to view including different types of barbed wire, arrow heads, and wagons will set the spirit of the past in view.

Sons of the Confederate will be lending a hand with breakfast and showing other skills during the day. There will be folks giving demonstrations of candle making, tomahawk tactics, and flint fire starting during the day. In addition, there will be different musicians playing and singing from the front porch of the log cabin.

A trail ride will start at 8 a.m. at Walden Farm and Ranch Supply at 201 Fairview Road, returning by noon. Anyone interested in details for the ride should call 940-682-4667 for more information.

There will be several activities for the younger children, such as roping, a sand box treasure hunt and a kiddie pedal tractor pull. Tractors will roll at 2 p.m. and trophies will be awarded.

Docents will give guided tours of the Fuller Millsap and First Post Office cabins throughout the day. There will be food vendors and a variety of booths including Lone Star Pickers, jewelry, canned hot sauce, a toy store, plants, crocheted items, Casseroles to Go, and raffle drawings.
