Sheriff's investigators probe shooting

Parker County sheriff’s investigators are looking into a shooting incident that led to a female being injured.

Sheriff Larry Fowler said deputies were contacted when a 38-year-old female was brought to a local hospital with apparent gunshot wounds to her left arm and chest. The incident reportedly to have occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Opal Drive in Parker County.

A female witness dropped the victim off at a local hospital and then left, officials said.

Investigators have identified the witness and are gathering facts relating to the incident as of Friday afternoon. A possible suspect, known to the victim, has also been identified in connection to the case.

The victim was transferred to a Fort Worth hospital later Thursday evening due to the severity of her injuries.

The sheriff’s office said it is not releasing any further details at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
