WISD releases weather-related information for Tuesday

Statement from Weatherford ISD:

The National Weather Service has announced a tornado watch for North Texas. Presently, there are storms north and west of our area and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon.

We wanted to make you aware that we have been in direct contact with our AccuWeather meteorologist who has confirmed that there could possibly be severe storms in our area later today between 2-3 p.m.

All of our campuses are equipped with access to weather data and two-way radios that enable us to communicate with safety officials in Weatherford. We will continue to closely monitor the weather throughout the day.

If severe weather enters our area, our campuses will shelter in place and follow prescribed safety procedures, and we will communicate with parents and staff using our emergency notification system.
