A weighty theft
Weatherford police Monday investigated the reported theft of large, tractor tires used in physical training workouts along with a weight stand from a business in the 100 block of North Elm Street. The theft reportedly occurred between 10 p.m. March 4 and 10 a.m. March 5. Reported stolen were tires 5-feet in diameter, valued at $400, and a pyramid-shaped weight stand made of metal square tubing, valued at $100.
A traffic stop made late Saturday night led to the arrest of a man wanted on a Hood County warrant, Weatherford police reported.
The traffic stop occurred in the 500 block of North Brazos Street after the driver reportedly made a turn without signaling. The driver was identified as Randy Dale Burns, 23, of Weatherford. Burns was arrested on the warrant charging him with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces. Burns was released Sunday afternoon after posting $1,000 bond.
Warrant arrest II
A vehicle being operated with a defective headlight was stopped in the early morning hours Sunday in the 300 block of Palo Pinto Street, according to Weatherford police. A passenger in the vehicle, Roy Alexis Chavez-Diaz, 20, of Glen Rose, was found to have an active warrant for criminal mischief in an amount more than $50 and less than $500 out of Somervell County. Chavez-Diaz was placed under arrest and transported to Parker County Jail where he was booked and then released early Sunday afternoon after posting $1,500 bond.
