LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Reader tired of letter writer

Reader tired of letter writer

Dear Editor,

Every week in the Letters to the Editor, Mr. Feuilly has something to say negative about President Obama and the Democrats.

He as much as called President Obama a communist (Letters, Aug. 20). As I have said before I am sure Mr. Feuilly cashes his Social Security check each month. However, if he doesn’t need it he could give it back to the government.

If he is so fed up with how the country is being run he should be writing to the Republican House speaker. Oh, I forgot, he’s the one who can’t find his way to the White House. If the speaker would get over his hatred of the president, maybe the government could get back to doing what they should be doing.

Mr. Feuilly can always get a passport and move to some other country of his choosing. I am tired of reading his rambling letters. I can remember when the Democrats saved this country back in the 1930s and ‘40s.

Burgers gone wild

Dear Editor,

How and when did my mother’s hamburgers evolve from a healthy combination of bread, meat and vegetables into a heart attack in a wrapper?

Hamburgers once came with one-quarter-inch-thick meat patty. Now burgers have two or even three patties. To make it even higher in unhealthy fat, cheese and bacon are layered between those patties. And if it’s still not unhealthy enough, you can get a nice greasy layer of mayo added, and have the vegetables held.

Many restaurants serve a burger with a patty so thick, no human mouth could possibly bite a piece off, unless all the other ingredients have been reduced or removed.

Also, when did ordering a burger become an involved social process of questions and answers? Even fast food establishments routinely ask if I want fries, tater tots, onion rings, white or yellow cheese, peppers, mustard, mayo, barbecue sauce and whole grain buns, as if that could make their monster somehow healthy. And just before they tell me the cost, they ask if I would like to super size my order.
