MILLSAP – Good things are always going on in Millsap, and there is great news on the business front here. Plans for the local branch of Comanche National Bank to close have been canceled!
Local bank personnel confirmed that plans are to make no changes in hours of operation. Some changes will be made in terms of workers, and certain types of banking business will be carried out at the Millsap branch that were not previously available. One of these changes will involve bank employees who handle real estate banking now being on site at the Millsap branch.
There are also plans for some changes in tellers. It is wonderful for our community that we will continue to have the great convenience of a bank right in town. We are thankful that those of Comanche National who were in control of making the decision to keep the bank open listened to what the customers wanted and graciously agreed.
Summer Edwards, director of Millsap ISD’s MAP program, has asked that a reminder be given to parents of enrolled, incoming pre-K and kindergarten children that prep camps for these Millsap students will soon be taking place. The purpose for the camps is to get the kids used to the classroom structure. The pre-K camp is July 15-18, and the kindergarten camp is July 22-25. For more info call 940-682-3143. As the Millsap school year will begin for students on Aug. 26, this is a great way to get the young ones off to a solid start.
Congratulations to Cathy Bradshaw on being selected the new Millsap Elementary School principal. Mrs. Bradshaw has been the assistant principal for a number of years and served as interim principal for the 2012-13 school year. Helping youngsters succeed in their education is a family endeavor as Mrs. Bradshaw’s husband, Roger, is an educator at Millsap Elementary, also. He has been a third-grade teacher, but next school year will be teaching fourth grade Math. This couple is an asset to our school district, and we wish Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw much success in their new positions.
