Chandler, Sledge wed

Sally Chandler of Weatherford, Texas and Steve Sledge of Carrollton, Texas, were wed on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 22, 2008 in a western style double-ring ceremony. Scott Simpson of Weatherford officiated.

The ceremony took place at the gazebo in the pool are of the Texas Star Ranch.

The bride was escorted by her son, Tye Chandler, and she was given in marriage by her son, Todd Chandler.

The bride wore a Victorian style ivory dress with beaded appliqued lace, with a chapel train and Victorian boots, made of leather and lace.

The bride’s bouquet was made of roses and sunflowers, and designed by Misty Engel.

The attendants of the bride and groom all wore black and white western attire.

The western decorations included guns, spurs, chaps and ropes belonging to the groom, and saddles that were formerly used by the groom’s late grandfather and great-grandfather.

The bride was attended by her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Paula Chandler, daughter and son-in-law, Karen and BJ Sharp, and son and his friend, Tye Chandler and Kate Anderson.

The groom was attended by his special friends, Bill Robinson of Marlow, Okla., Greg Boyd and Dan Gassett, both of Carrollton.

The guestbook was attended by the bride’s granddaughter, Brooke Chandler of Weatherford.

The ushers were Brett Chandler and Bryson Sharp of Weatherford, grandsons of the bride.

The music was provided by friend of the bride, Mike Gilbreth of Weatherford, by David Benton, brother of the bride, of Lipan, and Gail Capps of Dallas, a friend of the groom.

A reception was held following the ceremony in the Texas Star Ranch’s dining room, with dinner and dancing. The bride’s cake was designed and prepared by Debbie Simpson of Weatherford. The groom’s cake was chocolate, accented with chocolate covered strawberries. On the groom’s table was a special gift from the bride, a sculpture of a bride and groom each on horseback, holding hands. The cakes were served by Connie Gonzalez, sister of the bride, and Nikki Williams, niece of the bride, both of Weatherford.

The couple spent their honeymoon at The Gruene Mansion Inn in Gruene, Texas.

The couple will reside in Carrollton.
