Smith, Davenport wed
Miss Chelsy Nicole Smith and Mr. Matthew M. Davenport were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Stonegate Mansion in Fort Worth, Texas. Viola Rhoads, grandmother of the bride, officiated.
The bride wore a gown of silk taffeta with a scoop neckline and trumpet skirt silhouette with a draped modified sheath. An asymmetric hem attached to a graceful chapel train completed the elegant gown designed by Marisa of New York.
The bride is the daughter of Doug and Kris Smith of Weatherford, Texas and the granddaughter of Rogene Smith of Conway, Ark., Wendell Smith of Alpine, Texas and Viola and Wayne Rhoads of Sedalia, Mo. The groom is the son of Carl and Susan Olson of College Station, Texas and Thomas and Patricia Davenport of Miami, Fla. and the grandson of Dr. Marguerite Davenport Barzun of San Antonio, Texas and the late Dr. A.M. (Tony) Sorensen Jr., Mrs. Tommie Sorensen Maddox, and Mr. Oscar Clayburn Davenport.
Suzie LeBeck, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Laura Mills, Jenifer Wilson, Sadie Smith, cousin of the bride, Mallory Wuerflein, and Jillian Marsh, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Alex Swords, Addie Smith, Bailey Smith, Cate Smith, Megan Smith, and Taylor Smith, all cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids. Courtney Rowell, Amelia Senneff, Candace McKinney and Kristy Nadeau were the house party, and the flower girl was Kira Anderson.
Scott Davenport, brother of the groom, was the best man. Brian Olson, Ben O’Kane, Cole Morgan, Steven Cannella, and Chandler Smith, brother of the bride, were groomsmen. David Gardner and Doug Olson ushered.
The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown, floor length dresses and the junior bridesmaids wore pink. The reception was accented with copper tones and centerpieces of calla lilies and tulips. The highlight of the evening was the live band, The Groove Academy.
Following the honeymoon in Playa del Carmen the couple will reside in Round Rock, Texas.
