WEATHERFORD — A Springtown man lost control of his truck and slammed head-on into an oncoming vehicle in an accident that sent the two drivers to Fort Worth hospitals Tuesday.

According to witnesses, Brett Anderson, 18, of Springtown, was traveling northbound in the 400 block of North Main Street at approximately 6 p.m., when he lost control of his bronze Ford pickup. Anderson went onto the southbound lane and hit a white GMC truck driven by 34-year-old Jason Ramey of Haughton, La.

Air ambulances transported the men to Harris Methodist Hospital and John Peter Smith Hospital, though it was unclear which victim went to which hospital.

“It was apparent the occupants of both vehicles had suffered extensive injuries,” said Weatherford Police Detective Wendy Field in a news release this morning. According to the release, both drivers suffered multiple broken bones and other visible injuries, but are both in stable condition.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
