Any prior experience running for office? This is the first time I have run for an office, so far it’s been good!
Why are you running for office? I have two boys in Peaster High School who have attended Peaster since kindergarten. My wife and I are currently adopting our 2 year old daughter, a future Peaster graduate. I want to make sure all my children have the best opportunities growing up, and I feel that starts with their education. I would like to take a more active role by serving on the school board. I feel the quality of education should be at the top of the board’s best interests.
What is the most important issue facing the district? I believe growth is the most important issue facing the district. My concern is how to provide the highest education possible and deal with the inevitable growth. With a large housing development set to break ground in August, we need a strong proactive strategy that will accommodate our new growth and keep us moving toward future changes. I hope to see more interaction at our board meeting with the staff and public. That way we can be an informed board and keep the public informed about all that is going on and ways they can get involved. I will work with the superintendent to ensure this is the number one priority.
