An Arlington man has been arrested after a girl reportedly ran up to an Aledo residence in the middle of the night naked and screaming.
Wayne Dell Wright, 24, was arrested July 9 on a warrant for second degree felony sexual assault of a child.
Parker County sheriff’s deputies responded around 1:30 a.m. July 2 to an Aledo-area residence, where a resident told deputies she awoke when a girl came to her front door knocking loudly and screaming “he tried to kill me.”
The girl, whose age was not released, was naked and hysterical, the resident told law enforcement.
The child told deputies that she met a man named “Tyler” on Meetme.com earlier in the afternoon. During their conversation, the man offered to pay her money if they could meet in person, the girl told deputies, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The man drove to her house, and she was able to leave her home without being detected by her parents, according to the probable cause affidavit.
While the two drove in his vehicle to a rural area, he gave her an alcoholic drink, the girl told authorities.
After she drank some of the drink, she began feeling ill and asked the man to take her home, according to her account. However the man refused to do so and assaulted her at that time, she told investigators.
At the hospital, she described a sexual assault to a nurse, according to an affidavit.
After authorities obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s Meetme.com account and found Wright’s information, the girl identified Wright in a photo lineup, according to a sheriff’s investigator.
A parole warrant was also issued for Wright, who has prior felony convictions for burglary, theft and criminal mischief, jail records show.
Wright remained in the Parker County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
