If the heat and drought have you just as wilted as your landscape, check out the August meeting of the Native Plant Society’s Cross Timbers Chapter in Weatherford.

The program will feature a question-and-answer-style open discussion led by chapter members on everything you ever wanted to know, or share, about native plants. What is surviving the heat? What is that mystery shrub? What won’t deer eat? What blooms in the shade? Join us for a give-and-take along with light refreshments and a chance to meet fellow native plant enthusiasts.

The program will follow the Cross Timbers Chapter’s monthly business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Cherry Park Community Center, 313 W. Davis St. in Weatherford. The program will begin at 7 p.m. The public is always welcome.

The mission of the Cross Timbers Chapter is to promote the conservation, research and use of native plants and plant habitats in Texas through education, outreach and example. For more information visit npsot.org/wp/crosstimbers.
