Blue Belles to perform at Alamo Bowl halftime

The Weatherford Blue Belles dance team was chosen to perform in the Alamo Bowl halftime show Dec. 31.

The Weatherford High School Blue Belles dance team has accepted an exclusive invitation to perform at the halftime of the Valero Alamo Bowl Dec. 31.

The 68-member varsity dance team will be the featured halftime performer during the bowl game between NCAA teams from the Big 12 and PAC 12 conferences.

“It is such an honor to be selected for this prestigious event,” Blue Belle Director Laura Buckner said. “I am thrilled the Belles will have this opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.”

The Alamo Bowl is played in the Alamodome in San Antonio, in front of a crowd of more than 60,000 seats. All bowl attendees will also be a part of a Texas-style New Year’s Eve celebration.

“The Belles are looking forward to working hard to polish and perfect our halftime routine for the Alamo Bowl,” Senior Captain Molli West said. “Preparation has already begun. We hope to make Weatherford proud!”
