EPCCC WBA Nonprofit Showcase Luncheon
The East Parker County Chamber’s Women’s Business Alliance will hold the third annual Nonprofit Showcase Luncheon at 11 a.m. at Tucker Red’s Banquet Hall, 4971 East Interstate 20 Service Road North, Willow Park. Several Parker County charities and nonprofits will share their mission as well as their needs. Each nonprofit’s top three needs can be found on the EPCC website. Attendees can bring donations or drop them off prior to the event at the chamber office, 100 Chuck Wagon Trail, Willow Park, or Trinity Christian Academy, 4954 E. Secrets to Running a Successful Family Business
Lin Bearden will guest host the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at New River Fellowship, 3252 E. I-20, Hudson Oaks. In talk show style, Bearden will interview four sets of guest families about their secrets for running successful family businesses. The families include: Mitch Siegal and Erin Siegal Reich of The Flying F Ranch; James Plowman, Norma Plowman and Misty Plowman Engel of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel; Pam Decker and Ashlea Pina of Heart2Heart Montessori Academy and therapist Dr. Brandi Buckner.

Plant identification
Liz Street, a member of the Native Plant Society of Texas’ Cross Timbers chapter, will discuss plant identification at the group’s meeting in Weatherford.
With demonstration plants on hand, Street will present tips and strategies for identifying plants. She will answer general questions and offer resources about the topic. Along with other members of the NPSOT chapter, she can help visitors identify plant specimens if they bring samples or photos. A transplant from New Jersey, Street is a Parker County Master Gardener, co-chairman of the project gardens at the Weatherford Library, active with Junior Master Gardeners and a member of the Parker County Gardeners’ Club. The program will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Cherry Park community building, 313 Davis St., in Weatherford.
