Fort Worth man arrested for sexual assault of a child

Joey Long

Parker County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joey Lee Long, 34, of Fort Worth, on Wednesday for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Texas Peace Officer Joshua Pitman wrote in the consolidated complaint and probable cause affidavit that Long assaulted a girl in February 2013 in Springtown when she was 4 or 5 years old.

The victim participated in a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Parker County in March. According to the affidavit, she said Long touched her genitals with his hand underneath her clothes at a residence in Springtown. She then told him to stop and ran away to tell her parents.

Long was interviewed about the incident in April and said that it is possible that he touched the victim’s genitals and penetrated the victim with no more than one finger, according to the affidavit. Long said he was intoxicated during the incident.

Aggravated sexual assault of a child is punishable by a first-degree felony.

Long was booked into the Parker County Jail on a $20,000 bond but bonded out the same day he was arrested.
