The fifth annual Holiday in the Park takes place Sunday at Heritage Park.
The event, hosted by Weatherford Parks, Recreation and Special Events, was rescheduled from Friday to Sunday because of weather concerns, Special Events Coordinator Michael Howard said. Because of the change, the petting zoo and face painting will not be available.
Attractions include ice skating using synthetic ice, two snow hills, a 100-foot obstacle course, the 45-feet high slides SnowZilla and Everest, bounce houses, carriage rides, photos with Santa and pony rides, Howard said.
The event is free, as is shuttling from Weatherford College which runs 3:30-9 p.m. The only cost to attendees is to purchase food, Howard said. Food vendors at the event include Shep’s Place, Holy Frijole and Funky Munky Shaved Ice, among others.
Howard encourages families of all ages to attend the event and support local activities.
“Come out and enjoy a good day in Weatherford and not have to drive far,” Howard said. “That’s kind of what we wanted, and it has worked out really good for us.”
The event takes place 4-8 p.m. in Weatherford at 315 Santa Fe Drive.
