The Weatherford Horseshoe Club closed its season with a Thanksgiving Black Saturday Tournament. A preliminary round robin of the pitchers set the final brackets with four seeded positions.
Weatherford’s own John Good was crowned Grand Gobbler. Good was seeded third and came through during the finals by sweeping all games. Oklahoman Jenny Ray Buster lost in the championship game, 21-20 and won second place as Almost Grand Gobbler. Oklahoman Tate Buster closed out the awards with third and Barely A Gobbler.
Tournaments will resume in the spring, and will be able to be played into the evening as the city of Weatherford parks department will be installing new lights around the pits this winter.
