Man indicted on 12 counts of child sex crimes

Dustin Kirby

A Parker County grand jury indicted Dustin Edward Kirby, 35, of Douglasville, Texas, on Dec. 5 for eight counts of promotion of child pornography, aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child.

On Sept. 17, the Weatherford Police Department was made aware of a report from a 13-year-old girl that said she was being inappropriately touched by Kirby, according to the probable cause affidavit. The girl was taken to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Parker County where a forensic interview was conducted, and the victim revealed that Kirby had made sexual contact with her multiple times.

WPD set up surveillance at Kirby’s residence and once located, he was asked to go to the department for an interview to which he agreed, according to the affidavit. Kirby first denied the allegations and gave consent for officers to go through his phone. On Sept. 18, Kirby admitted to taking pictures of the victim’s body while officers began downloading contents of his phone. Officers located the photos and Kirby then admitted to touching the victim while taking the photos.

Kirby was arrested on Sept. 19 and booked into the Parker County Jail on a $40,000 bond. He bonded out the same day.
