Billy Devenport

Billy Ryan Devenport, 35, of the Aledo area — who was indicted in February for a variety of sex offenses — was issued a new indictment for seven counts of possession of child pornography on May 16.

“He had not previously been arrested for the charges in this indictment, but they stem from the same fact pattern as described in the previous probable cause affidavits. If he is convicted of any of the seven counts of possession of child pornography in this new indictment, Mr. Devenport will be facing two to 10 years and up to a $10,000 fine for each such count,” Assistant District Attorney Jeff Swain said. “After this indictment was returned, I filed a motion to consolidate the trial of this indictment with his existing indictments for sexual offenses, which included charges for continuous sexual abuse of a young child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child, sexual performance by a child, promotion of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. The highest of these charges carries a sentence range of 25 to 99 years or life in prison. If convicted of any of these charges, Mr. Devenport would also have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.”

Devenport was arrested for the sex crimes on Dec. 6, 2018, and is in the Parker County Jail on a combined bond of $310,000.
