Weatherford ISD’s Healthy Kids summer lunch program kicks off Monday. The program offers free lunches to all children who are 18 years old and younger. Healthy Kids free lunches will be offered Monday through Friday, through July 29.

Weatherford ISD began this summer lunch program in 2013 and has served more than 53,000 meals over a four-year period.

Meals include hot baked entrees such as popcorn chicken, chicken nuggets, and sandwiches — along with fresh fruits and vegetables. Funded through a Texas Department of Agriculture program, the meals are prepared and served by Weatherford ISD’s Child Nutrition department and meet all federal and state nutrition guidelines.

To eat, children should visit one of the following locations from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m:

Ikard Elementary

100 Ikard Lane

Cherry Park

302 W. Lee Ave.

Love Street Park

309 Love St.

Marshall Park

115 E. Fifth St.

Weatherford Public Library

1014 Charles St.
