Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford presents its 2019 musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” based on the comic strip, “Peanuts,” by Charles Schulz; book, music, and lyrics by Clark Gesner; additional dialogue by Michael Meyer; and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is presented through special arrangement with Tams-Witmark. This play is directed by Darla Robinson; the music director is Garrett McNutt; and the assistant director is Wally Jones. The show begins Friday and runs weekends through Sept. 22.
Currently celebrating its 50th anniversary, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” (revised) is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic, based on the beloved comic strip by Charles Schultz. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and Snoopy in this charming revue of vignettes and songs. Two new songs, “Beethoven Day” and “My New Philosophy,” have been added to the 12 numbers from the original version, which include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime,” and “Happiness.”
The cast of actors is as follows: Jessica Braswell as Sally Brown; Emma McKay as Lucy Van Pelt; Haley Davis as Snoopy; Christian Lopez as Schroeder; Jonathon Ogden as Charlie Brown; and Apat Karmany as Linus Van Pelt.
Show times are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Theatre Off The Square is located at 114 N. Denton St.
