A male pedestrian that was walking in the middle of the Interstate 20 West service road was struck and killed by a vehicle at about 6:10 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the Weatherford Police Department.
The man has been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office as Jason Andre Jones, 41, of Millsap.
The accident occurred on the service road between the Bankhead Road and Center Point Road exits.
“Officers had a dispatched call on a possible fatality accident. They got on scene and there was a pedestrian struck by a vehicle that was pronounced deceased on the scene,” Weatherford Police Sgt. John Rudolph said. “There are no criminal charges being filed at this time. The driver stayed on the scene and notified law enforcement and the accident team went out, earmarked everything and did their investigation. It’s all been cleared.”
Rudolph said the driver reported that Jones was walking in the middle of the roadway.
“It was still dark outside and he was just walking down the middle of the road, according to the subject that struck him,” Rudolph said.
