A two-vehicle crash on Texas 199 at the intersection of Salt Creek Road resulted in the death of a passenger Thursday afternoon.
“[The] preliminary investigation indicated a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager was traveling east on [Texas] 199 and attempted to turn left onto Salt Creek Road,” Texas DPS Staff Sgt. Ricky Hunter said. “The Plymouth failed to yield the right-of-way to a westbound 2007 Chevrolet truck. The truck struck the Plymouth on the passenger side.”
Hunter said the passenger of the Plymouth, James Strickland, 52, of Poolville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway was shut down while first responders worked the scene
“The driver of the Plymouth, Dickie Strickland, 41, of Poolville, was transported to a Fort Worth area hospital by ground ambulance,” Hunter said. “Both the driver of the Chevrolet, Travis Watson, 72, and the passenger, Patti Watson, 64, of Copper Canyon, were uninjured.”
