HOOD COUNTY – A single-engine plane flying from Mineral Wells to Granbury crashed over the weekend, killing the pilot and lone occupant of the craft, according to authorities.
The Texas Highway Patrol said wreckage of the Beechcraft BE33 plane was found Sunday about 3 miles from Granbury Airport near FM Road 4 and County Road 2580.
The victim's name has not been released.
Authorities believe the wreck occurred sometime Saturday. The pilot reportedly submitted a flight plan from Mineral Wells to Granbury.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA and National Transportation and Safety Board.
