A two-vehicle accident that occurred on Farm-to-Market 51 South at about 5:45 p.m. Friday resulted in the death of Cody Baggerly, 32, of Joshua, according to the Texas Department of public safety.
"Preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Dodge Caravan driven by 47-year-old Michael Thomas of Granbury, was traveling north on FM 51. For an undetermined reason, the Dodge pulled to the shoulder and then attempted a U-turn to travel back southbound. The Dodge failed to yield right of way as it attempted the U-turn to a northbound 2012 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Ashley Kiesling, 30, of Aledo," DPS Sgt. Richard Hunter said. "The two vehicles collided and as a result of the collision, a passenger in the rear of the [Baggerly] was ejected and died at the scene. A second passenger in the Dodge, 21-year-old Joseph Hannah of Joshua, and Thomas was not injured. Kiesling was transported by ambulance to a Weatherford hospital with undisclosed injuries."
