Kaylin M. Wells, 22, of Weatherford, and her unborn baby died after a two-vehicle wreck that occurred at about 4 p.m. Sunday on Farm-to-Market Road 51 North, just north of Bagget Road, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a 2009 black Ford Mustang, driven by Joshua Laposky, 23, of Weatherford, was traveling north on FM 51. For an as yet undetermined reason, the Mustang crossed the center stripe into the southbound lane of travel and struck a 2017 black Nissan Sentra head-on,” DPS Sgt. Two passengers in the Nissan, [Wells], and a 2-year old male also from Weatherford, were transported to Fort Worth area hospitals. Ms. Wells died from her injuries approximately three hours later. Mr. Laposky was transported to a Fort Worth hospital with minor injuries.”
Hunter said DPS is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the DPS South Office at 817-599-8463 and leave a message for DPS Trooper Ivey.
“The crash is currently under investigation and no additional information is currently available,” Hunter said.
