The Aledo Lady Cats stayed perfect in District 4-5A Tuesday evening at home, defeating the Wichita Falls Lady Coyotes, 3-0.

Aledo took the first set, 25-8, the second set, 25-14 and the third set, 25-7.

Lady Cats’ junior outside hitter Lilly Taylor led the team in kills with nine, followed by teammate Daleigh Ellison, a senior opposite hitter who put up six kills.

Aledo benefitted from a strong performance at the point of attack, racking up 14 aces against Wichita Falls.

Senior outside hitter Alex Grooms led the way with four aces for the Lady Cats, while teammate and senior libero Riley Pickett followed closely with three aces.

Pickett and Grooms also led Aledo in digs, with 13 and 12, respectively.

Sophomore setter Mattie Gantt put up a team-high 21 assists for the Lady Cats, while Pickett led the team in service receptions with eight. 

Aledo plays the Wichita Falls Rider Lady Raiders in a District 4-5A match at 5 p.m. Friday on the road.
