TCA senior Chance Roberts was one of six Eagles to take home first-team all-district honors in 2019. TCA finished as a TAPPS Division III state finalist.

The Trinity Christian Academy Eagles came incredibly close to hoisting a state championship trophy in 2019, ultimately falling to Houston Northland Christian, 3-2 in the TAPPS Division III state finals.

However, the Eagles’ extensive success still resulted in 11 all-district selections, including six first-team selections (all seniors).

In addition, TCA netted three second-team selections and two honorable mentions in TAPPS DIII, District 2.

First-team selections for the Eagles included seniors Tito Gabaldon, Kayden Kelley, Chance Roberts, Preston Gist, Carson Wert and Jacob Sherman.

Seniors Cody Athey and Gage Scott as well as freshman Brayden Smalley each took home second-team all-district honors.

Sophomore Jake Povero and junior Jacob Shelton rounded out the Eagles’ all-district selections, both taking home honorable mentions.


TCA softball notches

Seven members of TCA’s softball team were honored in TAPPS Division III, District 1, with the Lady Eagles notching four second-team selections and three honorable mentions.

Freshman Paige Bull, junior McKinna Nichols, sophomore Lauren Lykins and senior Maggie Nichols each earned second-team honors for TCA.

Honorable mentions for the Lady Eagles included senior Abby Skaggs, sophomore Lilian Ruiz and senior Kayla Smalley.
