The Aledo Bearcats finished the 2019 season with a record of 23-8, reaching the bi-district round of Class 5A playoffs.

As a result of their play, 10 Bearcats were recognized with District 4-5A awards.

Three Aledo players earned superlative awards, with junior Jaden Ard taking home Pitcher of the Year, junior Garrison Berkley taking home Offensive Player of the Year and sophomore Creed Willems taking home Defensive Player of the Year.

Ard started eight games, recording an ERA of 1.419 while collecting 53 strikeouts.

Berkley put up 27 hits in 67 at bats (.403 batting average) as well as racking up 29 RBIs and scoring 24 runs.

Willems pitched in 11 games, earning 19 strikeouts and working his way to a 2.545 ERA.

Aledo enjoyed five first-team all-district selections.

Junior Logan Hewitt was named a first-team pitcher, junior Dylan Mach was named a first-team infielder, juniors Nathan Fingar and Jake Bishop were both named first-team outfielders and senior Zach Reinert was named a first-team utility player.

Hewitt racked up 60 strikeouts in nine games on the mound, recording an ERA of 1.881 while batting .500.

Mach owned a season batting average of .391, Fingar batted .346, Bishop batted .342 and Reinert batted .269.

The Bearcats also earned two second-team honors in District 4-5A.

Senior Autry Johnson was named a second-team first baseman, while junior Max Lucas was named a second-team infielder.

Johnson put up a season batting average of .328 while Lucas batted .257.
