Brock’s Jaxson Gleaton and the Eagles fell to the Wall Hawks, 3-2 in game one of the teams’ Class 3A regional final series Thursday in Abilene.

The Brock Eagles (30-6-1) enter game two of the team’s Class 3A regional final series versus the Wall Hawks (36-0) with their season on the line after a 3-2 defeat in game one Thursday at Abilene Christian University.

Trailing 3-1 since the top of the fourth inning, Brock worked to claw its way back late, putting two runners on base (with two outs) in the bottom of the seventh.

The Eagles got one runner home, pulling within 3-2.

However, Wall was able to hold defensively, depriving Brock of the tying run.

The Hawks scored all three of their runs in the top of the fourth, thanks to an RBI triple from Jake Jansa and two-run homer from Charlie Mascorro during the next at bat.

The trio of Wall runs followed an early strike from Brock, which earlier took the game’s first lead in the bottom of the first, thanks to a sacrifice bunt from Jase Lopez which got teammate Cooper Allen home.

Game two starts at 1 p.m. Friday at Abilene Christian University’s Crutcher Scott Field, with game three (if needed) beginning afterwards.

Brock and Wall met in the Class 3A regional semifinals in 2017 and 2018.
