The Brock Eagles shook free of a 25-24 halftime lead versus the Paradise Panthers Tuesday night with a 35-21 run over the final two frames to come away with a 60-47 District 7-3A victory on the road.
A trio of Eagles hit double-digit points on the night, with junior point guard Ty McCall (11 points), junior shooting forward Corbin Calzacorta (10 points) and senior center Zane Cook (10 points) combining for over half the team’s total on the scoreboard.
Brock Head Boys’ Basketball Coach Zach Boxell said Paradise’s game plan played into the contest’s slow start.
“Paradise’s plan was to slow the game down,” Boxell said.
“They started off the game stalling. The game was close throughout the first three quarters.”
Despite this, the Eagles stayed the course, eventually breaking away for a 19-point fourth quarter performance, while holding their opponent to 12 points in the period to clinch the win.
